Some things we have done.

Here are some movies that were requested. They are still cute even if Kairi was slow to warm up to the camera.The first one is of Kate, while the second one is of Kairi.

Please note that the following may sound brief but hey I got tired of trying to update the blog after two hours of nothing uploading, and moving everything to the other computer and trying again. So here it is short and sweet; simple.

Chris had his birthday in September. We went mini golfing for part of the celebration.

Chris requested an ice-cream cake this year so Wesley  helped me pick one out. It even had gummy worms on the top. Yum! (Well you know they were good once they got over being frozen.)

We went to a garden...somewhere. I kept the paper telling me it's name but um that is all the way upstairs. It was a Japanese garden with several fun bridges, a wedding reception to spy on a Mexican dance group to peek at which is all super exciting for quiet people like me who enjoy watching and listening in to other people's lives.

All the kids had to try out sitting on the giant leaf. A couple passed us as we did so and I heard the girl say, "I want to sit on the giant leaf." I don't think she would have stayed up so well though. 

Yeah a maze made from shrubs. I've got to get me one of these, although not with the flowers and bees so close by.

I got a bag of apples at a farm with part of our weekly book group and with it made two apple pies and an apple blueberry crisp. I must admit to eating most of those pies.

Turtle pecan cookies. I think they are called snappy turtle cookies on allrecipes.com We had them as conference weekend treats. My kids ate the ones I made without the nuts. Wesley did the best with his nuts. At least he swallowed the ones he had put in his mouth. I know for sure Kate took a bite and spit it out.

This weekend we went to LegoLand! Which is in some town next to Chicago that starts with an S. Here we are at the front entrance. 

This was Wesley's second favorite spot.

Wesley made a monster to place inside a monster town. Can  you guess which one is his?

One of my favorite parts, a dragon ride!

Wesley built a race car to send down a ramp. It flipped head over heals a few times. 

Kairi built this tower all on her own and was very thrilled. I thought it was pretty cool too. 

We got to see a 4D movie, but not one with a prince. We saw one about a team of guys retrieving a box, escaping a scary monster, driving backwards down roads etc and flying on a jet pack. The girls got scared of the monster. Wesley loved this part of Legoland the best. After playing with legos they all came to life!

This one is out of order. It really belongs at the top as it happened in August. We got our driveway mudjacked to get rid of the two bumps that stuck out of it and made me and kids trip. 

This one is out of order too. It is a zoo picture taken in September. Now it is too cold for shorts.

This is the last mini golfing picture. It has Kairi making a funny face. Kids are sure good at making those. :)

Our Wards Twins!

So guys you are going to find this totally crazy I just know it! I know I still need to update events in September and such (yes we did things) but I thought I would get these up here in the meantime. Our ward has ten sets of twins and we finally got a ward picture of them all! I'm not kidding and here is the proof. One of the sets is still unborn, notice the pregnant lady sitting next to me in the gray, hers are twin boys that will be coming soon!

This top picture has everyone including siblings of the twins.

This one is of just the twins (9 sets so far) and a few parents hiding out in the back. If you miss count make sure you count the pair of newly born twins who are being held in the back by some older twins.

This last picture is of parents and twins, without (most) of the siblings.

 

Someone in the ward might send a photo into church headquarters. We'll see if they do and if we get a story about it. I heard a few people joking around about titles for the article. The only I really remember was something about being greatly blessed. Got any good article titles?

 



Birthday and More

So we have been doing things other than just getting a home. June 5th was Wesley's birthday. He turned three years old and is one smart cookie. The weekend before (or was it after) his birthday we went to the Milwaukee childrens museum to celebrate.

Here we have Kate, Kairi and Wesley. Nowadays Kairi does not have a hair tie just so other people can tell them apart. Sometimes though she likes to trick people and asks me to put on in her hair just to mix things up!



Wesley has been asking to go on a real boat ride lately. Perhaps he was remembering this awesome boat he got to try out. Speaking of boats I'm reminded of my last date idea to go boating. We even managed to get a babysitter and find the boat rental place. However they didn't take cards and their atm was out so we went mini-golfing instead. Oh well. One day.

The girls really liked this spot. They didn't dance as much as hang on the bars until they both got hurt.



Wesley had two cakes for his birthday. One is a Thomas cake made by Amanda.

The other was a batman cake with a bat symbol made by Amanda. This one was a little harder. If you ask Wesley this sentence: "Batman is here to say..." he will still finish it off with "Happy Birthday to Wesley!" Thanks for the card Michelle.

On Wesley's actual birthday we went to the splash pad. None of our invited friends came, but we still had some fun checking out the new park next to the water that sprang up out of nowhere.

You can't be Wesley unless you love Back to the Future. He got a delorean for his birthday. However it was more fragile than we expected so it currently has a new home until he's gentler with his legos. Stay tuned to see where it went!

We were determined not to miss Strawberry picking this year so I wrote it a year in advance on my calendar when the season would be. However since we had a long heat wave the strawberries got ripe too soon. We got to the field to pick them on the last day they were available to be picked which would have been the first day available last year.





Here's the strawberries we got. They didn't last too long since kids plus strawberries go together.



 Here is a picture of three hot kids on a train ride in July. Speaking of that month the twins are now 18 months and in nursery. With their fear of everything, it's safe to say that currently they hate it even when mom stays in there with them the whole time.... I'm hoping their fear of transistions and strangers goes away really really soon.

I finished a project I had been wanting to work on for some time. I hope you can tell what it is!

In July we went to the annual Epicnic at Daddy's work. This year Wesley and dad climbed up on top of a fire truck. It was a large step from last year when he wouldn't even sit in the front seat.

Wesley is very excited about this place. If only we lived closer to it! Here we are at a lego store!! He got to pick out some legos to go in a bucket and he was super thrilled. The girls helped to pick out legos too as well as mix the colors together and dump legos on the floor.

And here it is everyone!

You have found the new spot for the delorean. This sits on top of the fireplace and makes a nice centerpiece especially if you like clocktowers and trains and deloreans. The clock tower was purchased from the lego store. The rest we already had.



A weekend ago we went to a beach in Middleton to play in some hard sand and watch boats. The kids enjoyed it for a half hour or so then we played at a nearby park.

Alright. I hope you enjoyed the update. I had to get this done before I accumulated to many family reunion pictures at the end of the month... assuming that I remember to take any. :)
