Okay, maybe it's only 7 lbs 13 oz of news. Today, Wesley Davon Heit came to the world. In case you're wondering, he came out of Amanda, not me. So here's the schedule of how it all went down:
Warning: Due to the nature of the following information and photographs, you must be over 18 years of age to continue.Thursday, 10:30 PM: Amanda didn't want to go to bed earl, so she put up a fuss and claimed she was having contractions.
10:35 PM: Just like Big Bird learned about pretending to be sick, Amanda's claims turned into real contractions five minutes later.
11:57 PM: Junk came out, leading to suspicions about water breaking, so we tried to determine if it was real.
Friday, 12:30 AM: While waiting for more leakage, we timed contractions. They were about four minutes apart, so we decided to smidge on over to the hospital.
1:00 AM: She gets tested, and we find out she's already dilated to 5 cm! Yeah baby! Halfway there!
3:30 AM: Another checkup, and there's been no more progress. Suddenly the nurse admits she didn't know what she was doing, and that Amanda was actually only at 2 cm the whole time.
4:00 AM: Still no progress, so they kicked us out. I tried to sleep some so I could support her later on. She couldn't sleep, so she probably spent the night jamming on Rock Band.
10:30 AM: More junk started to come, but it was different colored junk, so the hospital said to come back. This time she was 4 cm, and it was party time.
12:00 Noon: 5 cm.
1:00 PM: 6 cm. The doctor got bored, so he stabbed her with a sharp stick and water gushed out.
2:00 PM: The sharp stick worked and she made it all the way to 10 cm. YBHIC! It was time for a pushing party!
3:00 PM: The doctor came back to help out. His phone went off during pushing. The ringtone was aptly set to "Sweet Child of Mine."
3:13 PM: Inspired by one of her favorite songs, Amanda rose to new heights and Wesley popped out. He didn't like being out, so he started to cry.
3:20 PM: While people made Wesley cry, to everyone's surprise, a placenta came out of Amanda.
3:23 PM: Not wanting to waste such a precious organ, the doctor instructed me to chop it up to be added to Amanda's dinner later that day. Meanwhile he distracted her by having the nurse punch her belly.
Well, that's all the important junk. I bet no one read it anyway, so here's some pictures.
Amanda is my hero. She was determined to do it naturally, following the proven Lamaze-Heit techniques. She shrugged all the pain right off. Here she is in the middle of one of her later contractions:

Here's Wesley's head sticking out during Amand'a final contraction:

15 minutes old and making a face. Those with extra sharp eyes may notice his weight here. Those with extra extra sharp eyes will notice that he's 19 inches here.

Some random baby they presented to Amanda to tide her over while they cleaned Wesley up:
Here's her aforementioned dinner: chicken parmigiana enriched with placenta bits.

The first grandma to ever hold Wesley. Apparently it was prayer time. That's why his eyes are closed:
