It has been a while since I have gotten around to updating the blog. This will be an incomplete post since I haven't gotten all the most recent pictures of my camera. Maybe (he he) I'll get around to updating more than twice a month.
Erin Heit had a post a while back talking about her kids coloring right around the same time my girls were learning the same thing: How to color on themselves (and everything else.) Kate is wearing a shirt that says, "I love toys."
Here's Kate after painting. She loves her own personal art board...
Olbrich Garden
We walked around Olbrich gardens, um sometime, with Aunt Michelle and Uncle Allen. Here's Kairi sitting on a bench with them. Such good smiles guys!
We generally get a picture of Wesley by this elephant around September. This time we got one with the twins. We might go in September to get the Wesley one.
Here is what Allen and Michelle were doing while I was trying to dislodge an eyelash from my eye for like an hour. I'm serious. The stubborn thing would not come out. When we made it home I ended up washing it out of my eye at the bathroom sink. By then my eye was rather tired of being irritated and so was I.
Wesley's Birthday
Wesley had a Space themed birthday party. I made him this rocket ship cake. We also had juice boxes and watermelon balls for comets.
We started out by making UFO's out of upside down paper plates stapled together while everyone arrived.
Then we got to pin space men, (really they were characters from Planet Heroes) on a rocket ship. Here is Wesley at his turn.
Then we headed outside for a moon rock hunt. The kids located aluminum foil balls and tossed them through a hoop into a basket. He He just look at that cute dad in his "dad" shirt trying to decide what to with all these kids.
Wesley opened presents....
Here you can see the "moon rocks."
The kids finished every single activity an hour earlier than I had expected so then they had fun just playing around the house and yard for the remainder of the time. They really enjoyed it and went through a whole container of bubbles.
Lego Show
We went to a lego show in Chicago. They had some really cool creations, huge ones, little ones, trains, boats, a whole long table (longer than I am tall) of the entire movie Wizard of Oz, lego robot bonking, soccer ball mechanically moving machine-it moved the soccer balls- and tons more to look at. I didn't post all the pictures or even my favorites, but I thought some of you would enjoy the scene above.
This one is a picture made all of Lego. It's flat. 2D.
Here's one for Randy, and all the other Portal fans out there. They even had a heart cube off to the right.
I like the green color on these ones. Imagine trying to get that dome put together.
A Walk
I took the kids out on a walk so we could look at different types of rocks. The kids ended up collecting a few rocks, but didn't really get into any discussion about them. At least at the end Wesley was able to tell me that Lava and Sand helps make rocks. I'm not sure if he still remembers that though. We sat on this log and ate snacks for a long time.
Strawberry Picking
We took Michelle with us to go strawberry picking. I must say that this years produce was twenty times better than last year during the drought. Here you can see Michelle, Chris, and Kairi.
This might be me....
Wesley found the biggest strawberry of all!
After the strawberry patch, when we dropped Michelle off, we had to play on the swing set in their backyard for a while. Kairi is climbing, Kate is on the swing. Wesley is by Uncle Allen.
More Epic
Since Epic had opened up three new buildings since the last time family was in town, when the Heit grandparents and Morse Grandma and Aunt Ann came out to visit, we had to go through the new buildings.
Here we have Ann, Grandma Heit, Michelle, Allen, and Grandpa Heit
Wesley called Grandpa "My friend" and held his hand everywhere. He's also holding a stuffed animal of The Cat in the Hat.
We went to the Madison Zoo with these guys on Monday. Here is when we stopped to eat a light lunch. We did more things with people, but I have not gotten them off my camera yet, and I still would like a picture or two of when we went to that climbing place. :)
Birthday Videos put together.
Ta Dah! I'll try to get around to putting another post up shortly. There's bound to be some good pictures of Epicnic next week and we had a Milwaukee beach trip this weekend etc.
