Halloween

On Halloween this year, we had a drifting of snow that melted away before the festivities started. I must say that I was Halloween-ed out this year before the official start of trick-or-treating. We had gone to a school Halloween party for Wesley, a work candy getting at Epic, a preschool party for the girls,  a church trunk-or-treat and finally Halloween night. I was done with candy! Actually, I was tired of lugging around the kids costumes because although they were very creative, they were rather clunky.

Kate picked to be a firework right after she watched fireworks on the Fourth of July. It was fun that she remembered what she wanted to be. Kairi is being a choo choo train. (She picked to be a trash can already for next  year. We will see if she remembers and still wants to do that!)

Wesley is a train crossing. Chris came up with his costume design. The top is attached to a black hat, The lights are on an elastic band attached to a board and hung from Wesley's neck. The lights really work just like on the train. Wesley won second place at his school Halloween contest. We didn't even get noticed at our ward contest because the kids had taken their costumes off to eat pie right when the judging was going on. But Michelle and Allen won for creativity as a painter and The Girl with the Pearl Earring.

Intermission! Kairi got super static hair on this slide!

This is not the best picture of Chris's costume, but it was the only one I got because after we left the house, my hands were full of candy buckets, pie and everyone's costumes. He is a rain cloud and some mysterious person broke the costume before we left the church party. He had taken it off when we walked the kids around the car trunks.

Here's the only one we have of my costume. I was a Christmas tree with battery operated lights. I also had gloves that lit up.

All the kids in a row.

Before it snowed there was this picture. Now there is snow.

Wesley had no school this Friday so we went to the kids museum.

You can't really tell what is going on so I will tell you. Minecraft three times over. Chris and the kids.

This is really late in posting. It is part of the twins dance recital from last year. This recording came from Grandpa Heit who managed to get it and not accidentally delete all the movies off his camera. Chris did something spiffy with our camera and got our files even after they were deleted, but he still has not posted them on the blog. :) So enjoy. It's from June. Kate and Kairi both got shy and would not do most of the dance. Kairi got brave enough to do this little bit the second time around.

We're growing up!

We all grow from the little steps that we take daily. These last two months have proven how far my kids have grown. Sometimes it can be hard to believe! Here is a little flashback into the past.

Flashback

Here is Wesley right before the twins were born. This is December 2011. He was never that little!

EH, I was trying to find a good "baby bump" picture. This one kind of works.

This photo is taken March of 2011

Here is June of 2012

This is from July 2013
And now for the big moment of today's post in 2014. This post takes up September and some of October.

I'm a big kid!

As you can see Wesley started kindergarten this year! He is doing well and really loves it. It helps that he has the same teacher as last year as she moved grades.

He is taking the bus to and from school since it stops literally right next to our front door every day.
Here I was encouraging these two to get on the bus. Wesley is on the right of me.

Every morning he starts out meeting his class at this table in the cafeteria. This was his first day.

Raspberries

We went raspberry picking with Allen and Michelle.

It looks like after these two photos, I started picking and stopped taking pictures.

Kairi and Kate have always liked rainbows anyway.

Birthday

This year for Christopher's birthday he wanted to have trifle instead of cake.

 Happy Birthday to you!

 Presents!

Preschool Farm Trip

The girls are part of a Preschool that meets on Wednesdays. There are seven kids total, one family did not make it to this field trip. We went down to a dairy farm: Hinchley's Farm Tours.

Here are two pictures taken on the wagon hay ride. It was windy. Can you tell?
This is Kairi by the way.
I call her Kate-Bo. Kate. Katelyn.
 They picked their pumpkins!

Here is something you don't see everyday. This baby cow was born that morning. When we passed it again, it was already starting to walk.

We got to milk this cow which is named Amy. I really thought of my sister for some reason....

Kairi milked the cow. No okay, she did not. She got this close and then just pet it. But that's fine too.

Kate got this close. She kept clinging to me to hide from a cat that was walking around, but she got brave enough to pet Amy. She did not like it when the cow next to Amy licked her whole head making her hair slobbery. Cow tongues are long!

This is my favorite baby cow. Kate is cute too.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Schusters Playtime Farm again this year.

Wesley wore the BYU hat the whole time. He even had one person comment about being a cougar fan. Kairi is next to him.

Alright, so all the other years we've been here these kids have been too small to go down this slide. They did great! It also helped that this year the slide was not burning hot, because we went on a really beautiful day. Kairi is on the left. Wesley is on the right in the hat and apron.

This was the new attraction this year. It's a rope spider web.
Kate in pink. Wesley in the hat.

As always we rode the barrels.

We also located the corn box.

This foot kept getting into my pictures. It was weird!

Here is one just because we don't see enough single shots of this guy right here.

Kairi gripped the wheel and grinned in glee. She was going to give Kate the ride of her life. Kate decided to run!

My kids were also big enough to climb these tires.

And for the first time this year, they got some good jumps on this jumping pillow.
Kairi is in the air! Wesley has his brown sweater, and Kate is in pink.

Kate was nice enough to take a picture of mom and dad.

Names

Before the new Deep Space building was made, we signed a beam with our names. We went and found our special place today.

Can you see us? We are right under the cross.

Blood Drive and Vehicles

Michelle invited us to this church that was going to doing a blood drive and showing off rescue vehicles. There was a firetruck, two ambulances (adults and kids) a police car, and a helicopter. You can guess which one was my favorite right?

Extra's

This looks like it was taken at Olbrich gardens.I can't recall when we went there. :)

Here are the kids almost getting wet for once at the newest splash pad around. Look they are getting so big! They touched the water!

This picture is really taken inside of Deep Space at Chris's work.

Yes, telephone booths do still exist. This one is found between Target and Party City.

We have finished one Halloween costume so far. Kate is going as a firework. She picked the idea herself right after the Fourth of July.

This is Emmett and Wild Style from The Lego Movie. Our ward did an "Everything is Awesome Family Fun Dance." My pictures of the kids dancing did not turn out because they are super dark. But we all had fun!
Here is proof that we can slide. I know you all wanted to see it. The end is pretty classy. :)

Ta Ta For Now!
