It's been one year since Wesley popped out of his Mom. Pretty sweet, huh? To celebrate the day, he got to eat some strawberries, as there is nothing yummier in this world than strawberries. After that, we went to the Henry Vilas Zoo, one of the few free zoos in the country that actually have animals. We started it off with a bang:

He was completely awestruck by a tiger that could fit him inside its mouth. This was his reaction before he came out of his stroller for a closer look:

The tiger was especially nice as it paced back and forth over and over again for everyone to get a good look. Wesley's expression was the same everytime it walked by. Unfortunately, nothing could top a tiger, as he kept pointing back to its area for the rest of the trip. We visited it later, but it was hiding somewhere, so it was good we went there right away. His second favorite part was the penguins, where he actually did his excited arm bobbing motion. There was a part to view them from above and below. He liked both, but soon a big ant distracted him more since it was grabbable.

We visited the goat feeding area, where they support the zoo's operational costs with the dog food vending machine things. Wesley didn't actually feed them because 1) he probably would've tried eating the food himself, and 2) the goats probably would've scared him if they started chomping his hand. Well, probably not, because he thinks it's the funniest thing ever to shove his fist in your mouth when you're pretending to sleep.

He then visited the Carousel, which didn't make much Progress since it just went in circles. He probably enjoyed it more than the kid next to him, but he still mainly kept his dumbfounded look from the tiger.

By then he was hungry, so he got a hot dog. As you can see, he still hadn't recovered from the tiger over an hour later.

The rest of the zoo was pretty uneventful, as he had gotten pretty worn out and was sleepy. We skipped the park, since the moment he went in his car seat, he was knocked out cold. Of course, once we were home he was wide awake again, so it was time for everyone's favorite part of a birthday: The prezzies! He didn't know what to do at first, so he just climbed onto his favorite sitting box. By the last present, he was getting the hang of it. Here's some recordings of the event.

All in all, he got crayons, bubbles, a dump truck, a ball shooter thing and farm books. He liked the balls, but the ball shooter scared him stiff since it was eating his balls and then vomiting them out. Oh well. One day he might like it.
After playing with toys for a bit, we went to the children's library where he could play with more stuff.
Still dumbstruck, as you can see:

After the tornado siren ended, we smidged back on home for cupcakes. You can tell that such a busy day completely blew Wesley's mind, but he eventually remembered he was eating junk food and showed some emotion.

And that was Wesley's birthday (anniversary)! Yeah yeah yeah! We can't wait to hear about the REAL birthday of Everett Amber Morse later this year.
