Wesley Being Wesley

Who knows where this kid learned to be such a goofball.

Wesley usually has water in his sippy cup, but one day we put juice in one of them. See if you can figure out which one is the juice one!

Epicnic

Today there was a company picnic. There were several activities for kiddos and bigguns alike.
First we went to the petting zoo since Wesley liked the real zoo back on his birthday. First he got squealed at by a pig, then a donkey bit his foot and then he got surrounded by geese, so he decided getting that close to animals wasn't much fun after all.

This was outside of the petting zoo. He was still a bit upset from all those punk animals.

Food always calms him down, so we got some of that next. Apparently they usually serve lobster and crab, but this year was barbecue instead. That's okay, since seafood is disgusting.

After checking out some more things like giant bubble wands and a 1-on-1 basketball challenge where the loser gets soaked (Amanda; I think she lost on purpose just to cool down from the 90 degree weather), Wesley was ready for some cooldown time of his own, so we left the picnic area and went to the quiet halls of the main campus.

Outside of the cafeteria is a wading pool, which Chelsea and Brie liked during their visit. This time brave little Wesley went all the way inside. He's getting a lot tougher with water after being a wimpface at Wisconsin Dells.

Then we discovered a music room with drums, a guitar and a real player piano (but not one of the cool old ones, just digital trash). Wesley liked the drums and tambourine the most. There was also a jukebox in the Cafe 80's soda stand next door, so we thought Wesley might like some dancing time. Unfortunately, the computer hidden inside was a Mac, so of course iTunes froze into a spinning wheel of death the moment I tried choosing one of his favorite songs. Then the whole OS crashed and when it rebooted it started playing some trance music while the cursor flew all over the touch screen. No matter what, the song wouldn't stop. So I pulled the plug and walked away. They sure don't make jukeboxes like they used to. At least it looked pretty; that's what Apple's all about after all.

By this point, our quiet space was getting invaded by people on a geocaching hunt. Our phones are free and designed only to phone people, so we didn't join them and instead returned to the party outside. It was tug-o-war time! The team made up of ward members was trashed by the three time defending champs in the first round, so that was boring. If I had participated, they would've stood no chance, obviously. Especially after going level 4.

Here's Wesley on a springy horse with a rock. Isn't he a cutie? Amanda got soaked in the basketball game again, and then we left since she didn't want to do the bungie bouncing, and Wesley didn't want to get trampled in the bouncy castle. Before leaving a colleague and his wife invited us to the pool at their apartment complex, so we smidged over there soon after coming home. Now, for those who saw him at the Dells, you would expect him to be all cry-cry in the wet, but no, he had the time of his life swimming. Well, he mainly flew across the tip of the pool, but he went all the way to five feet deep and attacked his mom with a squirting fish, laughed at his parents when they looked like they were drowning, did cannonballs and even held his breath underwater for a minute while she sat on him. Luckily I intervened in time. We'll have to go swimming again now that he realizes it's nicer in the water than on the scalding pavement.

Oh, this is Wesley walking in water for the first time without whining. Not at the swimming pool. We didn't have a camera then.

The end.

Just kidding.

Just kidding about just kidding.

Party in the House

The Heits came to visit us this month. Here are some pictures for them to steal. Amanda hopes they do the same for us. That would be awestimo-costimo.

This is Wesley's stroller, but it's not him inside! Oh no!

Here's some swinging chairs at work that I didn't even know existed until today. The field below is where the picnic was held today.

This is the wading pool outside of the cafeteria.

This is at the same golf course as the one from Amanda's birthday, where you do stuff like go down slides to reach the hole. We did the indoor course this time since there were more things for the kiddies to play with, but we didn't even manage to finish. They had fun anyway, like climbing through cheese here.

Then the Heits left. More Heits are welcome to visit, and even Morses. Wow! See you in August, Michelle!
