The best meal we ate in Paris was on a boat. We got to see the Eiffel Tower light up as part of the adventure. The movie for that is later down.
I believe this is Notre Dame. We got there early and avoided the long crowds. Take that.

We paid to climb up the winding staircases (there are lots of winding stone staircases in Europe) and we got to see the gargoyles. It's a pain that there is now a net in the way of good pictures now that selfie sticks were invented.

This is the catacombs underneath Paris. Going into here was the longest line we encountered and we stood in the sun for over an hour. Can you see the heart of skulls? They love that we came to visit.
Here is a town on an island. When the tide comes in it's almost impossible to reach the 40 or so people that actually live here. It is Mont Saint Michel.

Back to the Eiffel Tower of course. It was about 97 degrees Fahrenheit when we took this. We did buy ice cream shortly after.

Our first night in Portugal just happened to be Sao Jao or St. John's festival. Basically you hit strangers on the head with plastic hammers and try to escape the people hitting you with them or the long garlic sticks. Also it's impossible to avoid the smell of smoke because for some reason Europeans smoke way more than here. Then you see fire works from the bridge (Porto Portugal) at around midnight. They were a half hour late to get started.

Just as we got lucky to hit a major holiday we also landed in the middle of a Renaissance Fair expectantly. This was on the way to see
Castelo
de Guimaraes and the dukes house called Paco dos Duques de
Braganca.
Not catacombs like in Paris but more dead people beneath feet here too.

Looking out from the castle of Pena you can see this place simply called Moorish Castle. We went there too.
And walked through here to get there. We saw very very tiny frogs here that were smaller the size of a quarter.
